Posting a story on Instagram, Facebook, or WhatsApp is easy. But getting someone to watch it, stay engaged, and take action… that’s a whole different story.
Stories are one of the most powerful and underused formats by brands. They are quick, human, approachable, and (when used correctly) generate direct interaction with your audience. In this blog, we share real tips for creating stories that don’t just get views… but actually achieve something.
- Have a clear goal for each story
Before recording or designing, ask yourself: What do I want the person to do after seeing this? Understand something? Respond? Click? The best stories don’t just entertain; they drive action. - Use the first second as bait
On stories, you have fractions of a second to grab attention. A powerful phrase, a direct question, or an eye-catching visual can make the difference between being seen… or being skipped. - Be more personal and less corporate
Speak as if you were chatting, not delivering a speech. A friendly tone, humor, empathy, or even improvisation builds trust. - Mix up formats (don’t repeat the same thing)
Stories with only text are boring. Use videos, boomerangs, polls, sliders, questions, links, and gifs. - Leverage interactive features
Using poll stickers, questions, or quizzes is not just “fun,” it’s a way to get the algorithm to reward you and engage your audience. - Don’t always sell, but don’t never sell either
Alternate between valuable content, behind-the-scenes, testimonials, and well-thought-out promotions. Not everything needs to say “50% OFF,” but don’t hide your offer either. - Use clear and natural calls to action
“Swipe up for more,” “Reply if this happens to you,” “Click to book,” “Interested in this?”
Small phrases, big results.
What if you don’t have time to do it right?
